Overview

PACE is a serious running and training app: GPS run tracking with live splits, heart rate and cadence, a daily readiness score from HRV and sleep, and adaptive training plans that build toward a goal race. It's built for runners who want data that actually guides their training.

The challenge

Athletic tracking is precision work. GPS must be accurate and battery-efficient during long runs, live metrics must update instantly, and sensor data (HR, cadence, HRV) has to sync from watches and straps. Beyond tracking, the client wanted genuine coaching, readiness and adaptive plans, not just numbers.

Our solution

We built PACE natively (Swift + Kotlin) because continuous GPS, background tracking, and wearable sensor integration demand native performance and reliability. Live run tracking shows distance, pace, HR, cadence, and per-split breakdowns on a map; a readiness score blends HRV, sleep, and recovery; and an adaptive training plan schedules easy runs, intervals, tempo, and long runs toward a goal race, adjusting to fitness trends and training load.

Hard problems we solved

Accurate GPS that survives hour-long runs without draining the battery required native location tuning, motion filtering, and route smoothing. Turning HRV, sleep, and load into a trustworthy readiness score and an adaptive plan meant building a model that adjusts to each athlete rather than a fixed template.

Results & impact

PACE gave runners lab-grade tracking plus real coaching, readiness and adaptive plans that respond to how the body is actually recovering, in a native app tuned for accuracy and endurance.
